While the far right in Germany was hardly interested in climate change until some time ago, it has gained in importance in recent years. In Germany, the camp of climate deniers has been able to assert itself: While climate change is consistently denied, climate activists are defamed and sometimes physically attacked.  At the same time, right-wing actors in other parts of Europe are instrumentalizing climate change for their racist politics, linking it to “eco-fascist” ideas or propagating a “green patriotism”.

Hilary Moore, organizer and writer of the booklet “Burning Earth, Changing Europe – How the Racist Right exploits the Climate Crisis and we can do about it”, will discuss with us the relationship of the european far right to the climate crisis and what this means in practical terms for an emancipatory climate justice movement.
